John has a portfolio of roles in philanthropy and social investment, including Founder Chair of Access – the Foundation for Social Investment, a Non-executive Director at Big Society Capital and Trustee of HelpAge International. He is a Senior Advisor at Social Finance, focusing on social investment by charitable foundations.

John was the Founder Director of CAF Venturesome, an early pioneer of social investment in the UK. Previously he was a Director of Save the Children UK, and before that worked at 3i Group plc.
